Fion was the Project Research Administrator based at Open Lab until 2017. She worked on two major joint projects within the group and external partners;
Firstly the EPSRC MyPlace: Mobility and PLace for the Age-friendly City Environment collaborative Project between Newcastle and Northumbria Universities' Computing Science departments. This is a £1 million project looking at developing and testing through real-world research a digital platform and toolkit that will enable members of the public to engage with local councils and other organisations more effectively in the research, planning and design of the urban environment.
Secondly the AHRC funded Creative Exchange Hub between Newcastle University, Lancaster University and the Royal College of Art. This collaboration works on designing experiences, digital prototyping and communication innovation focusing on the practical challenges of Creative Exchange research, deeply embedded within digital public space collaborative projects.
Fion left Open Lab in July 2017 to take up an administrative post at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
