Jurgen Wagner is a Research Associate in the Transport Operation Research Group (TORG). Originally from Austria, he is currently completing his Diploma in Intelligent Transport Systems at the Technikum Wien. His research is focused on wireless sensor networks (WSN) using MICAz motes, indoor localisation and navigation. With WSN it is possible to locate other sensors using specialised communication protocols and respecting IEEE standards. This is used to track a person wearing sensors and provide him/her guidance to a selected destination which can be displayed on a mobile device. Jurgen is developing an indoor localisation and navigation system (ILAN) as part of the FP6 project called ASK-IT. The WSN is also used to monitor different environmental properties e.g. temperature, light, noise or pollution.
