I am an interaction and user experience designer with a computer engineering background. I enjoy all aspects of HCI from very techy detail to abstract design framework. My expertise in the field is computer-supported cooperative work, user experience, and interaction design. My doctoral research focuses on designing and understanding roles of mobile technology in co-located interaction. My research interests are mobile computing, tangible interaction, and ubiquitous computing. My life-time research question is how these areas of technologies, together with social elements between users, can enhance performance and experience in an activity. I usually follow research through design approach in my research, that is, producing the contributions of knowledge through design interventions.
I am expanding my expertise and establishing my own research direction. I have recently been introduced to public health and wellbeing research, and children’s health and wellbeing is particularly interesting to me. I am exploring the potential of technologies to improve young children's school readiness and enhancing play and leisure activities as starting points.
