Rob Thompson

Rob (Robin) Thompson is conducting computational behaviour analysis with Thomas Ploetz starting with a summer (2013) pilot project on computer vision based monitoring of livestock (farm pigs). Following this (from end of September 2013) he will embark on a joint MRes and PhD project for which Ilias Kyriazakis (from School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development) and Thomas received funding from the BBSRC. This project will be about developing novel behaviour analysis techniques for the early prediction of sub-clinical diseases in livestock.

Rob graduated from our School of Computing Science with a dissertation in Artificial Intelligence methods to solve combinatorial optimization problems in the field of Employee Scheduling.
