Participatory processes of narrating and sharing personal stories can provide powerful platforms for dialogue, reflection and enquiry among different communities and social groups, about the places they inhabit. How can these processes, stories and narratives also play a role in driving civic action and shaping change? What methodologies, interventions and digital tools are available and what others can be designed for meaningful and effective civic participation, reflection and action? What tactics and interventions can be developed to foster civic enquiry, dialogue and engagement and make what matter to city residents more visible? The project investigates design for civic action, the potential of narratives and stories as evidence to engender change and subvert established / dominant narratives, through a practice led socially and politically engaged art and design.
