Jim Coke
Doctoral Trainee
Jim Coke is a first-year PhD student working within the Open Lab under the supervision of Dr Clara Crivellaro. His research focuses on developing identity verification solutions for individuals without fixed addresses.
His PhD project wants to explore how financial services can be more accessible to vulnerable populations who are often excluded from traditional banking due to the absence of a permanent address. Jim's work is based on a previous project he worked on for a research consultancy which aspired to bridge the gap between technological innovation and social equity by collaborating with financial institutions to ensure regulatory compliance and inclusivity while addressing systemic issues in identity verification.
