Yiwen Shang

I just finished my HCI MSc module as part of the IPhD program at Newcastle University and am excited to become a PhD student. My dissertation projects focused on personal informatics, self-tracking and reflection.

Before exploring HCI, I did my first master’s degree at University College London and my bachelor’s degree at Beijing University of Technology both in software engineering. I also had several website front-end and Android development experiences in the industry.

One of my most fulfilling experiences was serving in the Chinese Natural Sign Language Alliance, where I had the opportunity to connect with individuals who are deaf and non-verbal during my undergraduate, and I am currently enthusiastic about learning English sign language.
