Dan Jackson
Senior Research Associate
ⓘ From mid-October 2024, I'll no longer be at Newcastle University. To contact me, please see: danjackson.dev/contact.
I am a Senior Research Associate within the School of Computing at Newcastle University. Based in Open Lab, a cross-disciplinary research environment, I collaborate on the development of research systems and prototypes, engineering solutions for projects that use a diverse range of technologies.
My primary research interests are with human-computer interaction with a focus on the areas of ubiquitous/pervasive computing and technologies that support health and wellbeing. After graduating in 2001 with an MEng in Computer Systems and Software Engineering from the University of York, I worked for several years at Lexicle Ltd., where I helped to produce a state-of-the-art web-based 3D embodied conversational agent, and have provided consultancy in ubiquitous computing and computer vision.
